Video Game Remake - Space Invaders

Image
Space Invaders is a classic arcade game with simple but exciting mechanics, so a friend and I decided to form a 2 person team and try to replicate it. We found the asset on the Internet and used Unity and Perforce as our developing tools. We took about 2 weeks to complete the new Space Invaders, it may not looked 100% the same as the original one, but it had most of the functions of the original Space Invaders, and we learned a lot from remaking this game. This is not my first time using Unity. However my previous work was mostly interactive novels and platformer with only one level, so the Space Invaders replication was the first complete game I made on Unity. The game was made in 2022.  Game Video: Download Link: Space Invaders Remake

Narrative Design - Roy

Image
Roy is a game narrative project, assumed I was working as the narrative designer for a 3A game design team. In this project, I created the "Roy", including world setting, characters, and basic mechanics, completely original and on my own. I also wrote a short script for an important scene of this story.  In the introduction pitch deck, I used the AI generator Nightcafe only to better demonstrate the concepts. If I would further develop this project, I will replace the AI generated art with original art. The project is made in 2022. Introduction Pitch Deck: Script: This is a scene in act 3, which the protagonist Roy is questioning her mother, about the mysteries of the fortress and her sister's death. At beginning of the game, each player can write down a simple goal in real life on a blank white card. During the game, players can go down the rabbit hole by moving their chess pieces, answering questions cooperatively or by themselves. At the end of the game, one or more players with the highest score will gain the “power” to achieve their goals written on the white card. The core of Rabbit Hole is about “satisfaction” and “wish fulfilling”. Because most goals that players set at the beginning of game are small troubles in their daily life, such as “get more sleep”, “get better score”, and “hang out with old friends”. Therefore, the gameplay of Rabbit Hole is designed to make players feel the positive parts of life and the bond between people. The questions in game are all highly related to peoples’ daily life, such as “name 10 ingredients of salad in 30 s...
